HALF MOON BAY
YACHT CLUB
Princeton, California
HMBYC 2007 Youth Sailing Program
Sailing
instruction and fun for young people ages 8 to 16 emphasizing
safety and sailing technique. Sailors are grouped by ability (beginners
are welcome) and are taught by certified Level 1 US Sailing Instructors.
Maximum enrollment is 18 sailors with 3 instructors. Sailing
takes place within the protected harbor on 10-14 ft centerboard
boats (El Toros, Hobie Ones, and Lasers) and includes an opportunity
to sail on a 20ft sailboat (Cal20).
Sailors must be able to swim 50ft in a wetsuit without a life
jacket (tested on the first day), provide a wetsuit (local stores
offer rentals), and bring a snack and bag lunch each day.
Students whose families are not members of the Half Moon Bay Yacht
Club are required to purchase a one month special family membership
for $50 on the first day of the session, and will have access
